The homicide took place in Hartford around 3:40 a.m., Friday, Oct 21 in the area of Wethersfield Avenue at Elliott Street.
According to Hartford Police Lt. Aaron Boisvert, officers responded to the area on a report of a person shot.
When officers arrived they found Raymond Lewis, of Hartford, unresponsive, Boisvert said.
Lewis was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, he added.
The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions responded and assumed the investigation.
Lewis's death is the city's 32nd homicide of the year.
